STR Guard Insurance was founded by Nate Jones, CPCU, and Kami Jones with a simple conviction: short-term rental owners deserve better than a generic homeowners or landlord policy pieced together by someone who's never managed a guest turnover or navigated a platform's host protection program.
Short-term rental is a demanding, high-frequency-occupancy business. Properties cycle through new guests weekly. Guest amenities like pools, hot tubs, and game rooms create liability exposures that standard homeowners coverage explicitly excludes. Platform-driven booking volume means a single property may host more guests in a year than a hotel room. The insurance needs to match the reality.
Nate and Kami saw STR property owners consistently underinsured, paying premium rates for policies that excluded the very risks they faced, or discovering gaps only after a claim. STR Guard was built to fix that.

STR Guard Insurance operates as a DBA (doing business as) of Wexford Insurance, LLC — a licensed, independent insurance agency. As an independent agency, Wexford — and by extension STR Guard — has no obligation to recommend any particular carrier. Every recommendation is made on the merits of coverage and price.
